Norsafe supplies life-saving equipment for an Arctic supply and research vessel

Recently, Norsafe has signed a contract with the Schelde military ship construction plant in Damen to deliver a life-saving equipment (LSA) that meets the IMO polar code requirements for an Arctic supply and research ship of the Australian Antarctic Bureau.

The contract was delivered to two JYN-85 traditional lifeboats equipped with LH-140 davits and two JYN-115 lifeboats equipped with LH-185 davits.
It is reported that this is also the second polar rescue equipment contract received by Norsafe. In November 2016, the company also received the first polar code rescue equipment contract of the British Antarctic Survey and Polar Research Ship.
Erik Mostert, Project Manager at Norsafe, said, “Our professional life-saving equipment can adapt to the most extreme cold weather conditions, and we will ensure that these equipment can last for at least 10 days in a polar environment.”
