Faults Caused by Improper Construction and Installation of Capacitive Pressure Transmitter

Failure of the capacitive pressure transmitter will cause abnormal output or inaccurate measurement of the transmitter. However, after careful inspection, strict application and installation in accordance with technical requirements, effective measures can be taken in time, problems can be eliminated, and failures cannot be handled. The transmitter should be sent to the laboratory or manufacturer for further inspection.

The majority of failures at the construction site are due to improper use and installation methods, and they are summarized in several ways.

1. The primary component (orifice plate, remote measurement connector, etc.) is clogged or improperly installed, and the pressure point is unreasonable.

2. Leakage or plugging of the pressure tube, residual gas in the filling tube or residual liquid in the aeration tube, deposits in the process flange of the transmitter, forming a measurement dead zone.

3. The transmitter is wired incorrectly, the power supply voltage is too high or too low, indicating poor contact between the meter header and the meter terminal block connections.

4. The installation was not strictly in accordance with the technical requirements, and the installation method and the on-site environment did not meet the technical requirements.
