The PCD Edge machining system developed by Methods Machine Tools' Methods EDM division enables fast, precision forming of various PCD tools on the Fanuc iC series of wire-cutting machines. The system consists of programming/probing/cutting software, microfinish power/generator optimized for cutting PCD, Hirschmann rotary axis, Renishaw probe (mounted on EDM machine) and tool clamping system for PCD new tool initials The forming of the blade shape and the sharpening of the worn PCD tip (recovering the blade shape). Operators do not need to have professional programming knowledge to be able to machine up to eight tool profile cuts with their specific size parameters.
