After receiving the monitoring installation project, we first need to determine the number of monitoring cameras, how many cables, how to supply power, how to wire and so on. Today we come to exchange technical questions about the power configuration of the monitoring system.
Now more commonly used to power supply includes three kinds: PoE power supply, centralized power supply, independent power supply.
The front end of PoE power supply is a network camera, which is connected to the network switch by a network cable. Because the network camera itself needs power supply, the traditional camera is directly to a power line, and the network cable output in the POE power supply switch contains power and signals, which is connected to the terminal. Only one cable is enough, but the IP camera recently did not have a POE power-receiving function, because the camera interface RJ45 interface is connected to the signal board, all of which are embedded in the POE power-receiving module, so that power and signals can be distributed to the corresponding circuits. Centralized power supply The method of installing the power supply equipment in a power room or a weak motor room, distributing the power through a communication cable, and then supplying power to each device. Centralized power supply can control and manage the power supply plan in a unified manner, and beautify the advantages of integrated wiring and wiring. However, there are defects in the page, which means that the configured power supply power needs to be appropriate, otherwise it will cause many troubles.
Independent power supply is generally the nearest power source for monitoring equipment, and the short cost of power lines will be reduced. However, each camera power line is not under the same management, so it is not convenient for management or maintenance. This is generally used for small-scale monitoring, such as the store's four monitoring heads can use independent power supply.
The situation that requires power supply power configuration is definitely the case of centralized power supply, because the centralized power supply of the surveillance camera does not simply add the rated power of the camera.
Because the surveillance camera is the same as other electronic devices, the current will increase at the moment of starting, plus the loss of current in the transmission line. In this way, properly configuring the power supply of the surveillance camera system will become a problem for many young and inexperienced engineers. However, some actual solutions may encounter the lack of sufficient power supply capacity during the construction phase and require additional equipment. This will increase the cost of the project.
So what should be done? Generally, the industry standard is to increase the rated power of the entire surveillance camera by a factor of 1.3. This is the actual power required by the camera. Then about 30% of the loss is added. Finally, 30% of the margin is added for future expansion.
For example, a business building monitoring project, including 100 fixed cameras, each camera rated power 4W, how do we need to configure the surveillance camera power?
Now according to the previous method, we have come to the conclusion that the rated power of the camera is 4W × 100 sets to get 400W.
The actual power required for the surveillance camera is 400W x 1.3 to get 520W. With the loss, the power required by the surveillance camera is 520W x 1.3 to get 676W. Considering the margin, the power supply power that the surveillance camera needs to configure finally is 676W×1.3 to obtain 878W.
The result is as follows: Power supply required by the camera = Rated power of the camera × 1.3 × 1.3 × 1.3 (Preparation: If the monitoring line is particularly long, increase the power and increase the power supply voltage).
In addition, what details need to pay attention to when configuring the surveillance camera power supply? First of all, it is not possible to use one power supply at the same time for the entire monitoring system. Because the maintenance of the monitoring system occurs from time to time, it is necessary to turn on and off the power supply. Surveillance cameras start at the same time as the power supply, and the starting current will be particularly large. This will have a particularly large impact on the power supply, which will severely burn the power supply.
Another point to consider is that when all surveillance cameras share the same power source, in the event of a power failure, the entire monitoring system must be shut down, and the system will be paralyzed.
