Slowdown in the international transaction rate of PVC products
In the first quarter, the price of crude oil continued to rise. PVC in various countries maintained high prices under cost pressure, and domestic calcium carbide method PVC prices had a slight advantage. However, the weak demand worldwide caused the products to be priceless. With the beginning of the diving of crude oil and vinyl raw materials in April, the international PVC prices fell sharply. The reversal of the cost advantage of calcium carbide and ethylene led to the suspension of domestic PVC exports and the obvious advantage of imported sources. From January to May, the export volume of PVC pure powder in China was 143,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 19.9%; the import volume was 409,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.9%. This shows that the international transaction rate of PVC products has slowed down and the PVC industry has been depressed worldwide. Since March 2011, after the devastating earthquake in Japan, the caustic soda market in China has exhibited an overall increase in volume and price, especially in the liquid caustic soda export market. After entering the year of 2012, although Japan's impact has been reduced, because it still has no goods to export, the price of liquid caustic soda in China remains at a relatively high price. But this year, the caustic soda market in the United States, ASEAN, and Europe are all sluggish. Despite the high liquid caustic soda price in China, it is only due to the tightening of goods, and the downstream demand is flat, with some areas even shrinking. Under this background, China's liquid caustic soda export market will go from here to the next and become the focus of attention in the industry.
