In order to promote the development of transportation, improve logistics efficiency and reduce logistics costs, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued an announcement on the 31st, from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021. Vehicle purchase tax is halved for the purchase of trailers.
According to the announcement issued by the three departments, the trailer products are managed by labeling the vehicle purchase tax mark. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology verifies the tax reduction label of the “Motor Vehicle Complete Vehicle Certificate” or the “Imported Motor Vehicle Electronic Information Form” uploaded by enterprises and individuals, and transmits the verified information to the State Administration of Taxation. The tax authorities shall go through the procedures for the reduction of vehicle purchase tax based on the tax reduction mark verified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other materials that need to be provided for the tax return of the vehicle purchase tax.
The announcement emphasizes that enterprises and individuals that mark the tax reduction mark of the trailer in the "Vehicle Ex-factory Certificate of Motor Vehicles" or "Electronic Information Sheet of Imported Motor Vehicles" shall ensure that the vehicle products are consistent with the certificate information or the vehicle electronic information. Enterprises and individuals who provide fraudulent information and other means to defraud the vehicle purchase tax shall be punished in accordance with relevant laws and regulations after investigation.
